DAY 3
Morning visit of Nemea and Winery.
Nemea is an ancient site in the Northeastern part of the Peloponnese. We will explore the Zeus Temple and the stadium. One of the most important parts of Nemea was the stadium which dates back to 4th century BC and is still in very good condition. Visitors can actually walk where ancient athletes once competed as both the start and finish line have been unearthed. One of the most interesting things at the stadium is a tunnel leading from the 'undressing' room to the stadium for the athletes to enter the stadium. This is the place where the Nemean Games were held in honor of the mythological baby Opheltes.
In close distance from the stadium there is a premium winery. The winery is located in the area of the Appellation of Origin Nemea, the largest and perhaps the most exciting Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) red wines in Greece.
The region was first put on the map for its winemaking by Homer, who called it Ampeloessa - “full of vines.” Today the appellation of Nemea is the most important red wine AOC of southern Greece.
The owner will personally welcome us and take us around the winery to explain the secrets of winemaking while a distinguished wine specialist will introduce us to the most popular labels of the winery.

Exclusive lunch can be arranged at the beautiful veranda of the winery…

Proceed to Vouliagmeni and check in at Astir Palace Resort.

This building, the three-arched stone bridge over the Ilissus River that had been repaired, also at the expense of Evangelis Zappas, and the surrounding gardens give us a charming picture of Athens in the early 20th century.
The Zappeion is currently being used as a Conference and Exhibition Center for both public and private purposes.
